I was very excited to participate in this event. I couldn’t believe I would participate in a IFCA (International Fun Championship Association) championship!! This is what happened!
87 Participants had registered coming from places all over the world Such as from Italy, Germany, Poland Aruba etc…
DAY 1: all of a sudden my jibing went perfect and I got to the semifinals where I remained behind Steven Max Lageveen when randomly my baseplate broke which made me get disqualified for not finishing! Since my baseplate broke I missed the losers finals and got disqualified for not starting too.
DAY 2: Everything went perfect with a strong baseplate and good jibes but now what i needed was pure speed because I faced the strongest opponents. Sadly I didn’t even make it to the semifinals this time and spent the rest of the day with my friends who also didn’t make it!
DAY 3: Finally A day where EVERYTHING goes how I want It! I had a good start,fast jibes,good wind and strong material now what could be better than that! I finished just before the rain came down and because of the weather the races were cancelled for the rest of the day.
DAY 4:The wind was strong and we had to continue day three and do one more for today! Both races went good and I had strong opponents
DAY 5: This time I raced 13 people in my heat and only 4 were allowed to move to the finals and there would be a huge losers finals with all the other Junior competitors. I got in the losers finals with two of my friends from CURACAO. After the races there was a nice award ceremony with fireworks.
